Dave’s Trip to Venice

David is an Associate at Meander Studio.

It’s been called the most beautiful city in the world. And I have to say, it lived up to the hype. The food surpassed our expectations, what we learned quickly was that the best of the best was far away from the tourists, in the quiet corners of this amazing lagoon. More than just a city, Venice is a precious region that is truly a work of art, not to mention a spectacular feat of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction. To truly appreciate it, the lagoon must be given the time and care it deserves. It can only be consumed as art. Here are some pictures of our favorite moments in Venice:

Each building tells a story. The materials, the wear, showing the centuries gone by.

Enjoying the flowers in our backyard as I drink a morning espresso.

A glimpse into the courtyard beside a 1000 year old church in Murano, recently restored by Save Venice, an American non-profit group.

“Bepi’s House,” an infamous colorful facade on the island of Burano — “the most colorful village in the world.”

The side streets of Venice will take you to another world, but only for those who make the time to go.

Glimpses into the daily life of the city.

St. Mark’s was stunning, but this was our favorite Cathedral. We had it entirely to ourselves.

Every night, the sunset was spectacular.

Hanging with the locals during golden hour

You cannot ask for a better trip to the airport than this.
